This magnificent chiffoniere from the Biedermeier period (mid-19th century) is an exceptional example of the elegant and architecturally sophisticated furniture construction of this era. The piece of furniture is constructed in two parts and impresses with its harmonious proportions and fine craftsmanship details.
The chiffoniere has a total of seven drawers, with the fourth drawer concealing a pull-out writing surface - a sophisticated and functional feature. Two elegant half-columns with artistically designed capitals frame the drawers in style and underline the classic Biedermeier aesthetic. The straight-line design with clear shapes and balanced proportions is typical of this era and gives the piece of furniture a timeless elegance.
The high-quality mahogany veneer has developed a warm, authentic patina over the decades due to natural sunlight. The chiffoniere was professionally preserved in our workshop. The original shellac polish was preserved and carefully polished to bring out the shine and depth of the wood again.
All locks are original and functional, but not all drawers can be locked with the existing keys - new keys would have to be made for this. The drawers can be pulled in and out without any problems.
The back panel has been replaced over the years and is not original.
